About the artist
Since moving to Oxfordshire in 2002 my work has focused on portraiture. My experience of working with people, particularly children, enables me to put my subjects at their ease. I draw from sittings, the length of which are designed to suit the subject and their needs. I draw people in their own environment. It's an opportunity for me to be with my subject and to experience them in their element. Sometimes people like to share a lot and others like to sit in silence. My intention is to capture some essence of the people I draw in the moment that I am drawing them. My expertise in draughtsmanship and my bold interpretations create striking, sensitive images. I work on large scale in chalk pastel. I draw both adults and children. Clients have ranged in age from 4 years old to ninety three.
I am available for portrait commissions.
