About the artist
Sue Cook is a professional artist who works from her Oxfordshire studio creating original evocative paintings on canvas. She has clients across the UK, Europe and the USA. Each of her canvases is unique while still retaining the classic imprint of a Sue Cook original through her vibrant use of colour, space and form.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world around her, Sue evokes a variety of moods - uplifting and playful or relaxing and contemplative.
Her large scale studies of flowers and similar subjects won international acclaim when she won first place in the International Visual Arts Awards 2006 hosted by US-based MyArtSpace.
ArtsHub reviewer Katerina Kokkinos-Kennedy said of Sue's work:"Cook's flowers seem to have personalities. The paintings are like portraits and as such are reminiscent of the great American painter Georgia O'Keefe's work."
Each of Sue's paintings is highly evocative and Sue strongly feels art is more than paint on canvas. "Art is feeling - an emotional response - and I love to evoke sentiments with my work."
